| You are absent from school |
Your responsibility is to:
- Complete one of the official school absentee/leave notes which are available from the Administration Office or R&R teacher explaining your absence and signed by your parent or guardian. This note should be brought in on your first day back to school after the absence and given to your R&R teacher.
- Your parent / guardian should contact the school if your absence will exceed three (3) school days. A written absence note will still be required on your return.
- You should make every effort to catch up on work missed.
- It is your responsibility to advise the school for whatever reasons you are absent.

| You are late to school |
You should have a note signed by your parent/guardian explaining your late arrival.
Your responsibility is to:
- Report to the Rolls Office. Have your late arrival and the reason why recorded and be issued with a late note.
- Take the late note to your class, which is in progress, so that you may be admitted to class. Ask each teacher to sign the note during the day. Return the note to your R&R teacher the next day.

| You are injured at school |
Your responsibility is to:
- Seek help from a teacher.
- Report to the Administration office staff.
|
| You are having financial difficulty |
- Please contact the administration office, your Year Adviser or Head Teacher Welfare. Student Assistance may be available.
- Second hand uniforms are available from the administration office.

| You have lost some property |
- Go to the main administration office.
- Go to the Deputy Principal

| You are late for class |
Your responsibility is to:
- Provide an acceptable explanation to your class teacher.
- If your teacher detains you at the end of a lesson you must ask him / her for a late note to take to your next teacher.

| You are out of class |
- If you are out of a class you must have an “Out of Class Pass” from your teacher.
|
| You need to leave school before 3:30 pm |
Appointments and early departures are to be avoided unless absolutely necessary.
- Bring a note from your parents / guardians requesting permission to leave early.
- BEFORE SCHOOL take this note to the Roll Office and obtain a “Leave Note”.
- Present this “leave note” to your classroom teacher at the beginning of the period at the time you are to leave school.

| You are absent from sport |
Your responsibility is to:
- Follow normal procedure for an absence if you are absent for the full day.
- Take sickness or injury notes, BEFORE school, to the sports organiser.
- Students absent on Wednesday afternoons without permission will be considered truants and placed on sport detention.

Your responsibility is to:
If in class...
- Advise your class teacher, ask for a note from your teacher and report to the Rolls Office
If at recess or lunch
- Advise one of the Deputy Principals

| You are out of Uniform |
Your responsibility is to:
- Bring a note from your parent / guardian explaining why.
- Ask your R&R teacher for an “Out-of-uniform” (blue) note. After three of these “blue” notes you will be sent to a ‘uniform’ Head Teacher and/or relevant Deputy Principal to explain the prolonged problem. Parents may be rung and you may be placed in the detention room.

| You are having personal problems |
You could:
- Share your problem with your Year Adviser, a trusted member of staff, a peer leader, a prefect or a member of your family.
- See the School Counsellor, Head Teacher Welfare or the Girls Supervisor.

| You want to see the School Counsellor |
- Visit the School Counsellor's office and ask for an appointment. If the School Counsellor is not there, either leave a message under the door, ask your Year Adviser to make an appointment for you or ask the Administration office to make an appointment.
- Students can be referred to the School Counsellor by teachers, parents or outside agencies (e.g. your family doctor)

| You are leaving Coffs Harbour High School |
Your responsibility is to:
- Bring a signed note from your parent / guardian or have them ring the school, indicating your new address (and school if applicable). This is to be directed to the Administration office or your Student Adviser.
- Obtain a LEAVERS FORM from the Administration office.
- Take this form to all your teachers, Head Teachers of each Faculty and your Year Adviser for signing.
- Return the Leavers Form to the Administration Office.
You must pay all outstanding fees, return all textbooks, school equipment, library books, locker keys, bus passes BEFORE "signing off" can be completed |
