CHHS Library

The Coffs Harbour High School Library services the information needs of the staff and students of the school.

The collection contains a huge array of resources, both book and technology based, which staff, students, parents and the wider community can utilise.

Junior students may borrow 3 books at a time. Seniors may borrow more than this provided they return items promptly.

OASIS Library is the software used to manage the collection. Students research and locate resources from enquiry terminals situated in the main library.

The library consists of four separate levels plus a resource room (with resources and teacher), a Learning Centre and staff offices.  The mezzanine floor is restricted to senior students only.
Upstairs there is a computer laboratory that is booked by teachers for class use.

The library opening hours are: Mon-Friday 8.30am - 3.40pm. It is open every morning before school and at lunchtime except Wednesday.

The library offers access to the Internet through a network of 30 school computers in Computer Lab 3 and another 9 computers for individual student use. Students have access to a photocopier and printer.

Once you have located your information you need to select the bits that are important. Consider note taking.

How is tour assignment supposed to be set out?
Take time to plan the layout of your assignment-headings, paragraphs, pictures, diagrams etc
Remember to make a note of the resources you use for the bibliography.

PRESENTING:
How are you meant to present your assignment?
How much information is needed?
Is the assignment written, oral or technology based?

EVALUATING:
Before handing your work in, edit it and make sure you have answered the question.
Get a friend to check it
What have you learnt?
