The school places a very high importance on monitoring the attendance of all students.

MONITORING ATTENDANCE

CHHS has put in place 2 sophisticated electronic systems to track student attendance and to quickly inform parents of absences and lateness.

All students are issued with a photo ID card which contains a barcode.

Year 12 students are required to “swipe” their card each day to record attendance. Allowances are automatically made for first scheduled class of the day.

Yr7-11 students will attend a roll call class.

At approximately 10.30am, the parents/guardians of all absent students will be sent a SMS text informing them of absence/lateness and the opportunity to immediately respond with acknowledgement is offered.

If a student is late to school or needs to leave during the day, they must go to the roll office and a printed slip authorising the variation is issued. A SMS text will also be sent if there is no note from parent.

In addition, teachers record irregularities to classroom attendance and this is forwarded to the appropriate personnel for further investigation.

Lost ID laminated cards can be replaced once for $1.
Lost plastic ID cards can be replaced for $4
